New Year’s Weekend in Corpus

I spent a few days fishing the Corpus Christi area with my old college roommate, Austin, this past weekend. We only had one day of good weather and the rest of the time it blew pretty hard but we managed to catch a fair amount of fish, mostly trout. Although we caught quite a few keeper trout, we didn’t catch anything with any size, but we did explore a few new areas and found some good looking water that we will definitely be returning to in the future.

We also spent hours each night behind the vise feeding off or each other’s creativity and trying to perfect a few patterns. I don’t fish south of Matagorda very often this time of year but I’m determined to find some good trout holes down south. I will be back soon. Very soon.
