I meant to announce the winner to the free vise give away over the weekend but I’ve been out-of-town since Thursday. I just got back in town late last night from an extended stay in the Corpus Christi area. I’ll post a report later this evening or tomorrow but for now let’s get to the business at hand.

Drum roll please…

There were 9 entrants total for the Fly Tying Vise Giveaway and the winner is Scott Hill who resides in “cajun country”. Scott, I will contact you later on this afternoon to work out the logistics, so I can get your prize out to you as soon as possible. I hope you come to enjoy tying your own flies as much as I do. I can’t wait to hear the story of your first catch on one of your own creations. I know there’s plenty of hungry toad redfish over there, so you should have no problem breaking in your flies properly.

Thanks to everyone that participated in this contest. Due to its success, I will be running similar contests for the subscribers of this blog. I have a few ideas, but would love some feedback from followers of this site. If you have any ideas on contests or things you would like to see give me a shout or comment on this post. One contest I have in mind is a weekly give away of a fly pattern or lure that has proven successful for various species. I also plan on posting tutorials on how to tie the pattern or how to fish the lure as well. I’m tossing up a few other ideas in my head, so we’ll see how everything plays out.

Thanks again to all the participants.
